The Sound of You and I

I was first tagged by the wonderful @kcp14
1.What was the last book you read?
It’s actually a funny story, I was supposed to be reading The Grapes of Wrath for English but I got sidetracked on Barnes and Noble and picked up this book called Jane. It was basically a modern retelling of Jane Eyre, which is my favorite book, so I had to get it. Or at least that’s my excuse.
2.Put a music player on shuffle. What is the first song?
Everything Will Be Alright by The Killers.
3.What are some personality traits you find attractive?
Intelligence or curiosity, empathy, and being down to earth.
4. What is your all time favorite song?
Oh it changes all the time, but probably Clouds by Zach Sobeich. He wrote it when the doctors told him he didn’t have much time left after a remission with cancer and it’s just really pretty and meaningful. Also, he’s a great singer so there’s that.
5. If you made a band right now, what would you call it?
Ooh, this is a tough one. Maybe “Tracing Spirals in the Earth” but I don’t know if that’s too long to be really catchy. But I saw it as graffiti on some post office box in new york and it just stuck with me.
6.Something that always makes you happy
I hate to sound cheesy or nerdy, but reading books. Even if the books are sad, I love being able to envision myself in all these different situations and stories. It’s like living vicariously through other people.
7.Do you usually have your nails painted?
Yeah, I mean kind of. I’d like to more often, but when my nail polish chips, my nail gets all damaged, so I’m trying to take a little breather now and then.
8.How do you see yourself 10 years from now?
Uh, probably as some sophisticated and enthusiastic researcher, confident in both my education and my capabilities.
9.What is something you've always dreamed of as a kid?
Traveling overseas and eventually moving there. Probably not very realistic and almost certainly not going to happen, but a girl’s got to dream.
10.What was the last album you bought?
A couple songs from Costello Music, the album by The Fratellis.
11.If you had $1 million, what would you do?
I’d like to say donate it to some meaningful charity, but whats more likely is that I would save it for college.
Questions from the lovely @beforenightfalls1313
1. what do you think about most?
I’m pretty self-reflective, so probably myself. I actually have conversations about myself in front of the mirror sometimes..
2. do you have any strange phobias?
Well I don’t consider this strange, but a lot of people think it’s weird that I’m deathly afraid of cacti. Especially because I don’t live anywhere even remotely close to where they can live. They’re just so scary and prickly though
3. first thing you notice about someone?
Probably their eyes. I have the bad habit of sometimes fixating on them unconsciously, so I have to actually concentrate on not completely staring at someone and creeping them out.
4. favorite cartoon
Well, I don’t really watch or read cartoons, so..
5. do you believe in karma?
Not in the strict sense that bad people who do bad things will have bad things happen to them, but I do think that people will have their mix of bad and good luck throughout life.
6. love at first sight?
Okay, I’m not sure about this one, but I’d rather not rule it out. However, I do think that it would probably not be love that both people would feel, more like an instant attraction or infatuation or whatever. I think love is a little more complex and takes more time to develop than just a glance.
7. Shakespeare: genius or overrated?
I’m not really sure. I mean, I don’t think he was a genius in the technical sense because he wrote stories that already kinda existed. But then again, to have his work stick around after all those years, he must have done something special.
8. favorite scent?
There’s this perfume that smells of woods and vanilla and is all musky and piney and yummy. I pretty much wear it all winter because it’s such a cozy scent.
9. favorite author?
Either Jane Austen, John Green, Charlotte Bronte, Stephanie Perkins or Elizabeth Gaskell. Yes, it is quite an eclectic bunch, I know..
10. strangest thing on your bucket list
I don’t actually have a bucket list per se, but I’d like to live in another country for at least a year. And that’s not counting a study abroad session, like actually living overseas and having a real job and everything.
11. if you could travel to any time period, which one would you travel to and why?
Gah, you ask just the right question. I’d love to be transported back into the Regency Era with all the courting menfolk and manners and chivalry. Even though women didn’t really have that many rights or jobs and everything, the romantic in me is yearning some Darcy/Rochester/Thornton. I sometimes wonder if my expectations for men are too high from reading too many classic romance novels..
Once again another tag from the absolutely perfect @kcp14
1) why'd your parents name you the name you have?
I have the same first name and middle name of my grandmother.
2) do you like your handwriting?
Yeah, even though its not always the neatest, I kinda really like it. It’s not all bubbly and annoying but then it isn’t chicken scratch either, so it has this sort of unique yet legible air about it I quite like.
3) last thing you ate?
Um, a chocolate easter bunny. Yeah…
4) are you a hopeless romantic like me :)
No doubt about it. Unfortunately my romantic notions don’t quite translate into my actual life. Like there’s this pathetically attractive football player that’s actually smart and nice and cute and everything, but I can’t quite get the courage to start a conversation myself. So yeah, I’m romantic and I also am hopeless, too.
5) if you could have lunch with five people dead or alive, which 5 people would you pick?
Richard Armitage, Brandon Flowers, John Green, Martin Freeman, and Joseph Gordon-Levitt. Is it a problem that I adore them and they’re all around at least twice my age? Nah, let’s not think of that…
6) what's one of your biggest regrets?
So I joined the school soccer team in freshman year but all the girls there were cliquey and we never got along well. I joined our marching band this year, for my junior and senior year and I just wish I joined to start with. I kinda feel a little isolated at times, not that I was really bullied or anything, but band forms these amazing bonds and I wish I could have had them since freshman year. Not to sound pathetic or anything but yeah.
My questions:
1.) Describe yourself in four words.
2.) What did you want to be when you were a kid?
3.) Did you get pranked/fooled this April Fools?
4.) Are you an optomist, pessimist, or realist?
5.) Are you a science/math person or an english person?
6.) Favorite type of plant?
7.) What would your patronus be?
8.) If you were ever chosen for the Hunger Games, would you survive and if so, how?
9.) Any suggestions for music? :)
10.) What's one skill you wish you had?
